So it begins! It is 6pm and I have completed my 100 minutes and 20 pages of reading in Lit, a memoir by Mary Karr, with plenty of time to finish the next 80 pages, or so I hope. I'll let you know tomorrow how that goes...
The 100 minutes consisted of running to my parents' house (25 min), grabbing one of their rambunctious dogs and running/walking another 30 minutes with her, running home (25 min) and stretching for 10 minutes. Easy! (Right now, my running pace is more of a jog at around 11 minute miles. Starting off nice and slow and hoping to speed up by the end of this challenge!)
The weather is supposed to get nasty for the next couple of days and I am going to have to get a bit more creative with my activities if I don't want to freeze. Luckily, my parents have a dusty old exercise bike I am borrowing so I can get my minutes in while the weather is bad, and maybe even read a little too! So far, I think there are going to be couple keys to accomplishing the 100 minutes and pages every dang day. One is planning for and getting the physical activity done early in the day, so I am not derailed by anything that comes up. The other is breaking up the reading into parts throughout the day. I read the first 20 pages over breakfast, now 80 feels far less daunting than 100. Day 1, Part 2 tomorrow....
